Argentina: fourth world exporter of wheat flour

The 16/17 campaign revealed very encouraging figures for wheat flour in Argentina. Not only increased the milling of this cereal, which was above the average of the last 5 years, but also reached a very good level of external sales, which allowed us to position ourselves as the fourth exporter of this product worldwide.
According to data from the Ministry of Agribusiness, wheat flour milling during the 2016/2017 campaign amounted to 5.8 million tons, which is the highest value in five years and is above the milling average of the five seasons between 2011/12 and 2015/16, which is 5.6 million tons. The growth of wheat milling was accompanied by an even greater increase in exports of flour and other by-products that derive from this production process. Data released by the INDEC show that exports of wheat flour in the 2016/2017 campaign reached 700,000 tons, 26% more than those of last season and more than four times those registered in 2012/2013, campaign in which a very bad harvest and a quantitative restriction of exports through the already eliminated ROE had resulted in a particularly low level of sales abroad. Since then, each year was exported more than the previous one, achieving an uninterrupted growth in the last 5 campaigns.
